My life experiences have been very diverse. I speak many languages, have traveled around the world, and lived in Mexico and India. After college I donned a back pack and set out to circumnavigate the world. My richest memories are of my years of travel. I experienced the rhythm of life in villages with no electricity or running water. In India I lived in a temple compound helping prepare for a ritual that drew the entire village. In a remote village in Mexico I was disguised as a demon with ankle bells and a small drum to join in playful visits to villagers throughout the night. Throughout Mexico, Japan, Thailand, India, Nepal, Turkey, Greece, England, Ireland, France and Italy I encountered friendly strangers who invited me into their lives and celebrations.
Upon returning to the U.S., I discovered that travel had changed my inner landscape. Realizing that my early love of creating with my hands had languished in the background, I began taking classes and making art, and went on to complete an M.F.A. at U. C., Santa Barbara. I eventually moved to Benicia, California where I built my studio and now work full time making art jewelry.
